IN TODAY’S DIGITAL WORLD

IN TODAY’S DIGITAL WORLD

One of the very recent news buzzing in the net is regarding the shutdown of the Facebook robot after it invented its own language. Researchers noticed that Artificial Intelligence they had created has started to make up their own code words. Even though it initially sound rubbish, later it became clear that the machines – nicknamed Bob and Alice – were actually communicating with one another. Days after Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that artificial intelligence (AI) was the biggest risk, the social media giant Facebook had to pull the plug on the AI system that its researchers were working on "because things got out of hand". The trouble was, while the bots were rewarded for negotiating with each other, they were not rewarded for negotiating in English, which led the bots to develop a language of their own.

In another technological development in business
, Starship Technologies, the company building a fleet of autonomous robots designed to deliver goods locally, has announced the launch of pizza deliveries in co-operation with Domino’s Pizza Enterprises (Domino’s), a global leader in the pizza industry. Starship robots will start delivering pizzas within a 1 mile radius around Domino’s stores in selected German and Dutch cities.
Advancements in the Digital field have reached a level where all of the above mentioned is happening in reality than in some science fiction movies. We live in a world where everyone is connected to each other through the power of internet. Internet of things has also come up a long way and through it  the inter-networking of physical devices, vehicles, buildings, and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity is actually possible. The Internet of Things(IoT) allows objects to be sensed or controlled remotely across existing network infrastructure, creating opportunities for more direct integration of the physical world into computer-based systems, and resulting in improved efficiency, accuracy and economic benefit in addition to reduced human intervention Experts estimate that the IoT will consist of about 30 billion objects by 2020.
Early digital history in the 1960s and 70s focused on quantitative analyses, primarily of demographic data - censuses, election returns, city directories, etc. These early computers could be programmed to conduct statistical analyses of these records, creating tallies, or seeking trends across records. The historians involved in this work sought to quantify past societies, to come to new conclusions about communities and population. Computers proved capable tools for that type of work. In the late 1980s quantifiers founded The Association for History and Computing. This movement provided some of the impetus for the rise of digital history in the 1990s.The concept of the Internet of things became popular in 1999, through the Auto-ID Center at MIT and related market-analysis publications. Radio-frequency identification(RFID) was seen by Kevin Ashton (one of the founders of the original Auto-ID Center) as a necessity for the Internet of things at that point.  If all objects and people in daily life were equipped with identifiers, computers could manage and inventory them. Besides using RFID, the tagging of things may be achieved through such technologies as near field communication, barcodes, QR codes and digital watermarking.
Internet of Things(IOT)

As per a 2014 survey and study done by Pew Research Internet Project, a large majority of the technology experts and engaged Internet users who responded—83 percent—agreed with the notion that the Internet/Cloud of Things, embedded and wearable computing (and the corresponding dynamic systems) will have widespread and beneficial effects by 2025. As such, it is clear that the IoT will consist of a very large number of devices being connected to the Internet. The former British Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne, has said that the Internet of things is the next stage of the information revolution and referenced the inter-connectivity of everything from urban transport to medical devices to household appliances.
The digital age has very much influenced the structure of the modern corporations also. To survive and grow, corporations must operate with a new set of assumptions and principles in order to remain relevant, competitive, and successful. Consider the growing number of technology startup companies that are doing something that once seemed unthinkable: challenging and disrupting traditional corporate giants. Even the behemoths that operate in industries that traditionally were not viewed as technology-related industries have not been spared from the impact of new arrivals and the resulting transformation in the business environment. With the rise of digital technologies, every corporation must now become agile, innovative and, more importantly, act as though they are dynamic technology companies. Ignoring the challenge of the networked age and the digital revolution is no longer an option as it will merely accelerate the decline and failure of large corporations.
Digital transformation has changed the world a lot than how it was a 100 years ago. Today one can sit at home, order vegetables and can even track it live. Virtual reality is already a reality which many companies apply in their e-commerce websites for their business and marketing purposes. There are even apps which you can use for consulting medical advices from doctors, online. Companies are on the race in using and developing the utmost features that they can get their hands on for developing their businesses. Commerce has completely transformed to itself to online, as shopping in today’s world can be done through mobiles using just fingers.
However, the change goes, one thing that must be kept in mind is that it’s no child’s play. If used responsibly the digital transformation can change the world to a much better place to live in, which can be extended to all fields of life including education, healthcare, commerce etc. But at the same time, it should be made sure that the control must stay in proper hands, as concept of digitalization is a system of set of coding that even have the power to attain more intelligence by itself.
